Angela Malone raised her daughter Steffany in a house full of art materials. Her philosophy was to pick a brush up and try it and see what can be made. In early childhood Steffany would go with her to 'help' paint on location with a cup of water and a sponge as Angela worked on Dreamland carousel horses, murals and sign writing. In 2007 Steffany, about to start her last year at the University of Creative Arts Canterbury encouraged Angela to study fine art there too. Consequently mum and daughter shared a year of refining their practices together, and that was the start of a rare and lovely painting partnership.
Steffany paints in oils and acrylics on sheet metal and designer paper whilst Angela is an award winning sculptor and well respected watercolour artist and tutor. To celebrate Steffany's 30th Birthday in 2015 they both hired the Horsebridge Centre Maugham Gallery in Whistable to hold their first fine art show together. Following it's huge success, another date was booked immediately and they have both been creating work for it ever since until it's opening night on November 8th.
Thank you to everyone that came along to join in the celebrations at their second show.....
Here are a few photographs of the show...........if you missed this don't fret there is another big and bold Art event being planned already by the Malones.
